China, India, and Japan were countries that were powerful, self independent, self sufficient and were established trading countries. It would be wrong to say that all the three powerful countries never explored at all. China explored a lot during the Ming Dynasty. In fact, it had a huge fleet under Zheng He that led explorations to Southeast Asia and Asia. However, they never colonized like the Europeans. The Europeans colonized the countries they started trading with and India is one of that country that was colonized by Britain in later years.
